The ancestral waters of the Sama tribe known for its extraordinary sand bar formation depending the weight of the water current when its high tide comes.
According to the Elders (Tribe leaders) there is a FOLKLORE about this place, a story of a lovers who pledge to love each other 'til their last breath, that is why it is called Sinapaan.(If you want to know the story? We will ask the natives there.)
The people themselves are the protector of the Island for this is their life. Most of the people resided near this place are fisher-folks and they their livelihood here.
No wonder why it is one of the tourist destination of the Island. For its pristine beauty and an enticing spot.
It is not really an Island as what it looks like but if you see it afar the green foliage mangroves waving alluring someone's attention and the pristine white pure sand bars circling around will hook your attention, So when the low tide come and sand bars approach you will see lots of folks and visitors savoring the paradise and before it vanished and reach its highest tide I am sure tourist are basking in their reminiscing the experience they had.
I myself I will describe Sinapaan as PARADISE for its natural beauty, the flabbergasted scenic location, a picturesque cozy place and the breeze of a fresh sea air, the shoal around, the untouched white sand bars, the fresh sea creatures roaming around, the verdant mangroves and bluish green salt water makes it more mesmerizing and attraction to the tourist.

It is easy to reach Vanishing Island, just hire a tricycle or a "habal-habal" and they will bring you to Barangay Tambo, Babak District Island Garden City of Samal.
Visiting this place need some timing in order to see and appreciate its beauty. It is best to visit the Island during New Moon or Full Moon for this is the time where low tide and high tide gets wider and bigger.
So if you worry where to stay, there are to cottages there, one is have complete stuff but expensive ( If you have more budget) and the other one is an open cottage but need to provide your own stuff (foods, utensils other things) with negotiable cost. But if you not planning to stay long just bring some picnic style stuff and you can lay it in the ground just make sure you are packed up when high tide comes.
It is open for public, no entrance fees you will just hire a "pump boat" for transportation. Just ask to locals at a negotiable cost. But of course you have to ask permission to the in charge. but i may suggest to do not directly hop to Island instead ask permission to the tribal leader called "DATU".. for this place is under the jurisdiction of the natives, and for safety purposes for they were responsible for any circumstances, So in respect, much better to approach them. You're free to ask them with regards to the Island.. I'm 101% sure they are good people.
Just look for Datu Gemino, he is the tribal leader of the place and he is a well respected and well known there. or you can contact me.
